
Education and Qualifications:
Daniel is the practice principal and owner, with more than 17 years of clinical experience in musculoskeletal/sports and private practice. He graduated with Honors from the University of Queensland with a 4 year bachelor's degree and a 2 year Masters Degree, receiving Deans commendation for high academic achievement almost every year. He worked as head tutor in the dissection laboratory and taught numerous anatomy courses at the University of Queensland for 4 years during his postgraduate years. He has advance certifications in acupuncture and dry needling (head, jaw, spinal, upper and lower limbs), clinical Pilates (mat work and reformer), and diagnostic/real time ultrasound (pelvic floor, MSK). He is a Wing Chun Sifu (Master/Instructor) in Traditional Ip Man Wing Chun (Ip Chun Lineage), and use to be a learn to swim teacher, swimming coach, and life guard.
Clinical Experience:
He started his clinical career at the Wesley Hospital Back Rehabilitation and Pain Management Clinic, as well as working in their breast cancer clinic, whilst working nights and weekends in private practice. Daniel also use to contract for Tennis Australia doing sports physiotherapy at tennis tournaments. Eventually he moved into private practice only, as a clinician and clinical educator for students of the University of Queensland and Griffith University. In 2013, Daniel became the practice principal and owner of Ipswich Physiotherapy Centre. For a number of years, Ipswich Physiotherapy Centre was contracted to Ipswich St Andrews Private Hospital to provide exclusive physiotherapy services. During that time, Daniel was responsible for organizing and directing the physiotherapy services to the hospital, as well as our private practice. He worked closely with the hospital doctors and private orthopedic and neurosurgeons to provide the highest level of care for their patients. Since 2017, we are now only focused on growing and improving our private practice in Ipswich and looking after the ipswich and greater region community.
Special Interest Area:
Daniel loves working in musculoskeletal and sports, whether it is chronic pain management, or acute sporting injuries. His qualifications in physiotherapy/exercise physiology, together with his sporting and gym background, has helped him developed great biomechanical and motor control analysis skills, differential diagnosis, and specific exercise prescription for rehabilitation.

Marisa graduated with Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1998 and has been with Ipswich Physiotherapy Centre since 2009. Marisa had previously worked predominantly in the areas of Aged Care in nursing homes and in the community for 11 years prior to joining Ipswich Physiotherapy Centre.
Marisa has a particular interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy (for both men and women) and in women’s health in general, including pregnancy and postnatal. In that area she is experienced in treating conditions such as urinary and bowel incontinence, pain and prolapse as well as pre- and post-surgical assessment and treatment (including prostate surgery and gynaecological surgeries).
She also has expertise and experience in geriatric
physiotherapy, and regularly conducts home and nursing home visits, privately and through agencies such as the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and the NDIS. Marisa also sees patients in our rooms, utilising a variety of treatment methods including hands-on techniques, ultrasound, exercise prescription and dry needling / acupuncture.
Marisa works with patients to develop tailored exercise programs in the gym and hydrotherapy programs in our hydrotherapy pool. She approaches each patient’s treatment with the goal of maximizing overall health and well-being through a personalized patient-
specific approach.

Yon is one of our senior Physiotherapist, graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018 with Honours.
Yonseo began her career in physiotherapy in 2019, bringing a fresh yet dedicated approach to patient care. Since then, she has gained extensive clinical experience across a variety of settings including private practice and aged care, working with diverse patient populations to address a wide range of conditions. Her expertise spans musculoskeletal rehabilitation, injury prevention, and post-surgical recovery, with a particular focus on treating chronic pain, sports injuries, and mobility issues. Over the years, Yonseo has honed her skills in both individual and group settings, utilising a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Her commitment to continuous professional development ensures she remains at the forefront of the latest treatment techniques, offering her patients the best care possible.
With a strong foundation in physiotherapy, Yonseo has developed a particular interest in musculoskeletal conditions, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy. She combines her in-depth knowledge of biomechanics and movement patterns with a passion for evidence-based therapeutic practices to offer a comprehensive approach to recovery. Yonseo’s expertise in musculoskeletal conditions allows her to address a wide range of injuries, from acute pain to chronic discomfort, while promoting optimal movement and functionality. Additionally, her focus on Pilates-based rehabilitation and hydrotherapy provides her patients with versatile, low-impact methods to regain strength, flexibility, and balance. Whether working with individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or seeking preventative care, Yonseo tailors her approach to meet each patient’s specific needs, fostering a path to sustainable health and wellness.

Phyllis graduated with a Master of Science and specialised in both Sport Science and Exercise Science. She had chosen her career pathway towards the Exercise Science and further her study to gain a Graduate diploma in Exercise Physiology. Her research area is in the biomechanical changes of posture, gait and movements that may lead to falls in older Australians.
Phyllis herself is a passionate sports and fitness enthusiastic with over 16 years experience in personal training, group exercise instructions and gym management. She qualified in Pilates Matworks, Pilates Small Equipment, Pilates Reformer and all other large equipment, and Pre and post-natal Pilates Instruction. She is also a qualified Yoga, Tai Chi, Aqua fitness, Boxing, Boxing for special populations, HIIT, TRX suspension system Instructor. Teaching is her second passion with 20 years of experience in High School education. She also dedicate herself to tirelessly in competitive sports including Track and Field, and Marital Arts (Demonstration) at state and national levels.
Phyllis Kwok, an accomplished exercise physiologist, became a part of the Ipswich Physiotherapy Centre team from 2016. She incorporates her knowledge in Pilates Method, Tai Chi, Yoga, and hydrotherapy into therapeutic practices to promote recovery, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being and muscle balance. Another very important area that Phyllis know well is weight management and osteoporosis management that had benefited thousands of patients throughout the years.

Phyllis uses her extensive knowledge of exercise physiology to help individuals of all ages achieve their rehabilitation and fitness goals. That includes posture and gait improvement, fall prevention, muscle strengthening and muscle balance, weight loss, osteoporosis management and mobility for daily lift activity, sports and exercises.
